Two aspects of the Cars of Malaysia judging mechanism set it apart from other awards in the market. Firstly, all cars presently for sale are considered eligible, even if newer cars tend to have a greater likelihood to win, being newer, better, more advanced, and all.

The objective is to create an award that aids the buyer in his or her decision making process. Cars don’t go out of sale after only being in the market for one year, hence there is no reason to not consider them for recognition solely on the basis of the model’s age.
