The Jesko Absolut is and always will be the fastest car ever made by Koenigsegg. Yes, they promised to never make a faster car than this, ever.

the company will never endeavour to make a faster series-production road car – ever.

Over 3000 hours have been invested in fluid dynamics (CFD) and aerodynamics analysis, alongside over 5000 hours of design and engineering for the Jesko Absolut on top of the Jesko.

And this title will stick with the car forever. In its official website, Koenigsegg states in black and white, ‘the company will never endeavour to make a faster series-production road car – ever’. Damn.

It is a natural progression in car development cycles that new ones are inevitably faster than their predecessors. This is even truer with sports and super cars, and in keeping with the natural order of things, the Jesko Absolut, a further development of the Jesko unveiled last year, is now the fastest car ever made by Koenigsegg.

Did you know….

Jesko is actually the name of Christian von Koenigsegg’s father.

Although just as powerful, the Jesko Absolut is a stealthier and more subtle interpretation of the track-focused Jesko.

Jesko Absolut removes the massive rear wing of the track-focused Jesko, thereby reducing not only drag, but also downforce. Additionally, the Absolut is elongated at the rear to give it a more tear drop-like shape.

Every surface of the Jesko Absolut is analyzed and optimized for the smoothest possible flow of air over and under its body.

Rear hood fins in place of the massive wing are designed to enhance the high-speed stability of the Absolut.

Target Cd of the Jesko Absolut was 0.28. Koenigsegg ended up achieving 0.278 for the efforts.

A 5.0-litre twin turbo V8 powers both the Jesko and Jesko Absolut. On regular petrol, the engine pushes out an already-astonishing 1,280hp. Feed it E85, you get 1,600hp. We thought only humans get intoxicated with alcohol, but would be lovely bringing one of these to Enduro.

How fast can it go?

Koenigsegg has officially stated that they won’t make a faster car than the Jesko Absolut after this, but what they did not say is how fast it can actually go. Thankfully, the world has the genius of Jason Fenske to work it out for us.

So, now we know it’s pronounced Yes-ko. Jes Sir!
