Everyday Joy

The new Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC expands the product range of the performance and sports car brand of Mercedes-Benz with another new AMG sports model.

As an attractive entry into the world of AMG, the C 43 4MATIC combines a 367bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 engine with a permanent Performance all-wheel-drive system and sophisticated suspension technology adopted from the Mercedes-AMG C 63.

It sprints from from zero to 100 km/h of 4.9 seconds while delivering a combined fuel consumption of 7.6 litres per 100 kilometres. Thanks to a hefty torque curve the new AMG sports model is agile, direct and dynamic.

With the help of various AMG-specific drive programmes the driver is able to tailor the character of the C 43 4MATIC to his or her personal preferences: the modes "Eco", "Comfort", "Sport" and "Sport Plus" as well as "Individual" are available to choose from for this purpose.

The drive programmes adjust the suspension, steering and powertrain as desired, and are selected conveniently with the AMG DYNAMIC SELECT switch to the left of the touchpad. The 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission responds with superior composure or maximum spontaneity depending on the driver's preference and selected drive programme.

The "Sport Plus" mode delivers thrillingly short response times: the driver's shift commands are implemented at lightning speed – the drivetrain responds spontaneously and precisely. The development engineers also take advantage of numerous hardware and software solutions from the AMG C 63.

- Multi-spoke light-alloy wheels painted high-gloss black with a high-sheen finish.

- Performance seats (lower seating position, more contoured seat shape for enhanced lateral support with integral head restraints and AMG badges).

- Designo leather seat upholstery.

- Lugano leather seat upholstery.

- Carbon-fibre/aluminium trim with light-tone longitudinal-grain.

Sleek And Athletic

For the left-field society set, Mercedes-Benz is offering the C 43 Coupe as well. Powered by the same fire-breathing 367bhp 3.0-litre twin turbo mill, it also boasts a modified engine control unit, increased boost pressure and far higher dynamics and higher-revs.

The Mercedes-AMG C 43 4MATIC Coupé is likewise sporty in appearance, making it instantly recognisable as a member of the AMG family. Characteristic features include the distinctive AMG styling as well as the specific light-alloy wheels.

The AMG styling includes the front apron with sporty distinctive air intakes, diamond meshes, silver chrome trim, as well as the rear apron with matt iridium silver diffuser insert. The diamond radiator grille features chrome-plated pins, a louvre in high-gloss black and the AMG lettering.

- 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission with double-declutching function when shifting down and exhilaratingly short response times in "Sport Plus" mode

- AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel drive with rear-biased torque distribution of 31 to 69 percent (front axle to rear axle)

- AMG RIDE CONTROL sports suspension with adaptive variable damping in three stages, mode can be selected via button, adopted from Mercedes-AMG C 63

- AMG DYNAMIC SELECT switch for dynamic, individually selectable driving experience with five drive modes and AMG-specific parameterisation

- Three-stage Electronic Stability Program

- Front axle with newly developed steering knuckles and load-bearing joints on the spring link. Elastokinematic adjustments to the links have been adopted from the Mercedes-AMG C 63

- Rear axle with elastokinematics tailored to higher driving dynamics

High-Riding Performer

The superb-looking Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC on the other hand, is enhanced with silver chrome coloured and high-gloss black features. It builds on the AMG Exterior line. The diamond radiator grille features chrome-plated pins, a louvre in high-gloss black with inserts in high-gloss chrome and the AMG lettering.

The sportily distinctive air intakes in the AMG front apron feature fins in silver chrome. Down below, the silver chrome front splitter ensures an optimal flow of air to the cooling modules.

High-gloss black-painted, high-sheen 48.3 cm (19-inch) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels dominate the side view. The mixed-size tyres with the dimensions 235/55 R19 on 8J x 19 at the front axle and 255/50 R19 on 9J x 19 at the rear axle emphasise the majestic appearance. There are also high-gloss black door mirror caps and the silver-coloured "BITURBO 4MATIC" lettering on the front wings.

The tail end also sports characteristic highlights and exudes sporty, aesthetic appeal with two four-pipe chromed tailpipe trims. The AMG-specific rear apron sports trim in silver chrome.

The high power output from the 367bhp 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine is attributable to, among other things, the higher 1.1 bar charge-air pressure. Together with the 520Nm torque from 2500-4500 rpm the engine unleashes high levels dynamism and responsiveness.

- Rear axle with elastokinematics tailored to higher driving dynamics

- Large braking system with internally ventilated compound brake discs, perforated at the front with a diameter of 360mm, and with a diameter of 320mm at the rear

- AMG styling with distinctive front and rear apron as well as special exhaust tailpipes

- Diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and louvre in high-gloss black

- 19-inch AMG light-alloy wheels in 5-spoke design, painted high-gloss black with a high-sheen finish

- AMG instrument cluster with "chequered flag" design with 280km/h scale and AMG main menu

- Multifunction sports steering wheel in leather with deep embossing in grip area, flattened bottom section, with red contrasting topstitching

- Upholstery in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre in black with sports seat upholstery layout and red topstitching

Bold And Different

The front view of the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupé reveals its independent character, with the diamond radiator grille with chrome pins and a louvre in high-gloss black with insert in high-gloss chrome and AMG lettering in high-gloss chrome. The sportily distinctive air intakes in the AMG front apron feature fins in silver chrome. Down below, the silver chrome front splitter ensures an optimal flow of air to the cooling modules.

Compared with the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC, the A-pillar features a flatter slope angle. The squat greenhouse blends in seamlessly with the side of the vehicle to emphasise the coupé silhouette. The interplay between high beltline and wide shoulders results in proportions that lend the GLC Coupé its dynamic looks.

High-gloss black-painted, high-sheen 48.3 cm (19-inch) AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels dominate the side view. The tail end also sports characteristic highlights and exudes sporty, aesthetic appeal with chrome-plated tailpipe trim elements in a four-pipe look. The AMG-specific rear apron sports trim in silver chrome.

Narrow, divided tail lights and the sharp spoiler lip invoke the design line displayed for the first time with the S-Class Coupé and followed by all of the coupé models from Mercedes-AMG. The rear window dispenses with a wiper, as the airflow does not fall away until after the spoiler lip, which means that water is unable to strike the rear window.

Wind In Your Hair Performance

As part of the facelift, the Mercedes-Benz designers have further honed the roadster's sporty look. The new front section, where the steeply raked radiator grille elongates the appearance of the arrow-shaped bonnet, is particularly striking.

All SLC models feature a diamond radiator grille as standard. On the entry-level model it is finished in black with an iridium silver louvre and chrome trim. The interior of the post-facelift SLC has an even higher-quality look. Highlights include new light (standard) or dark aluminium trim parts with a carbon fibre finish. The instrument cluster has a new design too. The two tubular instrument surrounds now feature black dials. Red needles also add to the sporty, contemporary design.

Further features of the masculine, sporty front section include a bumper which features striking air intakes, dynamically modeled contours and high-quality chrome trim at the lower edge, and distinctive headlamps. The LED daytime running lamps are integrated into the headlamp units.

The SLC’s vario-roof combines open-top driving pleasure with great comfort in poor weather. Operating the electrohydraulic roof is now even more straightforward. If when opening or closing the roof the vehicle has to move off due to the traffic conditions, the process which was started when at a standstill can be continued up toa speed of 40km/h.

Another new feature is the automatic boot separator (in conjunction with the optional extra vario-roof convenience feature or KEYLESS-GO): if the separator is in the upper position for increased boot capacity, it automatically moves down when the roof is opened. If there is not enough space for this because the boot is full of luggage, the roof does not open and the message "Close boot separator" appears in the instrument cluster.

Best of all, the AMG SLC 43 is also powered by the same 3.0-litre twin-turbo engine that puts out 367bhp and 520Nm. Making it an immensely fun and yet special car to drive.

The Über Saloon

Individualised Performance

Being the most unique one of the lot, the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC pushes out a more potent 401bhp and 520Nm. It also clocks a rapid 4.6 seconds from a standstill to 100km/h, thanks to the usage of larger turbochargers and the higher charge-air pressure of 1.1 bar.

The Nanoslide coating on the cylinder liners has also undergone further development in the Formula 1 V6 hybrid turbo engines from Mercedes-Benz. Especially tough and, therefore, wear-resistant, this coating also reduces friction, thereby contributing to higher efficiency.

The same applies to the spray-guided multiple injection with up to 200 bar fuel pressure. The AMG powerplant can be identified by the red aluminium insert in the engine cover.

The 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission is specially matched to the requirements of the new Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC. The AMG developers have managed to reduce the shift times of the 9-speed transmission by means of a dedicated software application.

The multiple downshift function enables more spontaneous short bursts of speed, while the double-declutching function in "Sport" and "Sport Plus" transmission modes makes for an even more emotional driving experience. Defined ignition intervention additionally enables faster gear shifting than in "Eco" and "Comfort" modes.

The looks of the Mercedes-AMG E 43 4MATIC also render it immediately recognisable as a member of the AMG family. Apart from underscoring the powerful and self-assured appearance, three large openings in the front apron also ensure an optimum flow of air to the coolers.

Two elegant cross fins on the outer cooling openings enhance the vehicle's visual presence. The diamond grille with chromed pins, a louvre in high-gloss black and the AMG lettering represent further hallmarks of the AMG 43 models.

The side view is dominated by high-sheen 19-inch AMG five-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black. The rear end also features characteristic highlights, with two chrome-plated quad-flow exhaust tailpipes conveying a particularly sporty aesthetic.

The rear apron trim in diffusor look comes in silver chrome, while the standard-specification spoiler lip on the boot lid is painted in the body colour.

Inside, it reinforces the dynamic calibre of the new E 43 4MATIC with numerous individual details. The driver and front passenger find a secure position in the sports seats even when driving at speed, thanks to the improved lateral support.

The upholstery in Artico man-made leather/Dinamica microfibre in black (optionally: nappa leather) features a distinctive layout and red topstitching. To match the seat design, the door centre panels and the dashboard are finished in Artico man-made leather with red topstitching. Exclusive pedals, a black roof lining and red seat belts add further sporty highlights.

Goosebumps Never Lie

Goose bumps always tell the truth.

And that’s the truth we’re working for. Beyond all measurements, data, tests, and calculations, it is goose bumps that tell us when we’ve reached our goal. When the sound of the engine has turned into something you not only hear but feel. When acceleration stops being a physical quantity and turns into a key stimulus for the release of fireworks in your brain. When grip is not grip anymore but a confession of faith in the road. Then, an AMG really is an AMG. And even then, it is time to keep working.

Because nothing is more AMG than to never stand still.
