DRIVERS

The E1 Championship is an online race series where the best drivers and teams from the Asia Pacific compete with invited drivers from around the world. It runs weekly on Wednesday nights, pitting both simulator-trained and real-life drivers against each other.

This series is the first of its kind and will run on iRacing, a platform so realistic, it mimics the effects of tyre wear and fuel usage.

Season two flags off on 25 August 2021 with ten teams consisting of two drivers each. Alongside the season regulars, there will be an additional 2 entries reserved for KOL’s that the promoter may invite and a further 2 entries reserved for the top 2 in the E-Racing GP weekly leader board

Alongside full-fledged team setups, drivers are held to the same stringent racing rules as elite drivers. So, instead of some demolition derby carnage, expect to see high-level sophisticated racing techniques on display.

Although the action takes entirely in a simulated world, it is significantly more complex than arcade or console racing. The drivers are supported by full-fledged teams that help them monitor the race and strategize their driving in response.

All racers will compete in the E1 Championship driving the Dallara IR-01 open wheel racer. It’s not a real car, granted, but it was developed with the process and realism of one.

Designed to blend together the best elements of grand prix racing’s past, present, and future, this fast and agile machine is easy to pick up, but limited electronics and driver aids make it challenging to master.

Simulated specs of the IR-01 gives it a naturally aspirated, 3.0-liter V10 reminiscent of F1 engines in the 1990s. Producing upwards of 900 horsepower at a dry weight of just 600 kilograms.

Virtual tracks, but real action. The E1 Championship Racing Series Season 2 flags off bringing F1 competitiveness to simulator racing.
